Can I send a few students to the library to get silent reading (SSR) books?

Answer

Teachers may send a small group of students (<6) to the library anytime to get silent reading (SSR) books. No reservations or advanced arrangements are necessary.

  • Please send students with a pass. Ask students to put the pass in the "Passes" box on the front desk. Passes are turned in to the main office at the end of the day.
  • Check the library events and instruction calendar (Click on "View All CVHS Bookings") in advance to see if any other teacher has already booked the library.
  • If you are sending reluctant readers or would like students to be able to consult with the librarian on their next great read, please choose a no conflict time.
  • It is okay to send a small group of students for SSR books when there is another class in process in the library. The librarian may not be available to consult. As a courtesy, please inform your students that there will be a class in process when they arrive at the library. Students can check their books out with a Library Assistant or Library Teacher's Assistant at the front desk.
